Making the tours affordable
Vic Park Rovers believes that the tours are an incredible chance for
young footballers to learn and grow. We therefore think it is
important that where possible financial concerns do not prevent
people coming on the tour who would otherwise benefit. In order to
keep the costs of tour down we budget carefully and engage in
fundraising. The friends, family and church of the players who
support fundraising efforts are not merely paying for an overseas
holiday but are hopefully allowing the players an intense period of
challenge which will effect their lives as well as assisting and
encouraging missionaries in a range of countries.
Supporting the long term work
Vic Park Rovers is also keen to not just provide a fun holiday or
end of season tour. We want to be involved in kingdom work which has
a lasting impact. For this reason our tours are not done alone but
hand in hand with local Christians who have begun the work long
before we arrived and will keep it going long after we have left. As
part of our commitment to this process we are keen to help support
this work, which is often resource poor. Kind of a thank you gesture
for putting up with a team of crazy Australians.
